Dear Verbies,
I have in mind and is in the midst of planning a trip for all to be part of a dance exchange programme with a school in Taiwan. It will be a 4-5 day trip to Taiwan during the march holidays. At this point in time, I would like to seek your favour in asking your parents if they allow you to join this programme. Here are some useful information you may want to share with your parents:
1. 4 -5 days in Taiwan, to visit a secondary school and conduct dance performances, take part in dance classes etc
2. The teacher to student ratio is 1:10. A female teacher will be going along.
3. The original cost of this trip is about $1200. For local students, there will be partial subsidies by the school, which will eventually bring the amount payable down to $850. Students can then pay this $850 through a few ways
(a) Edusave funds (depends on whether there is sufficient amount inside)
(b) Financial Assistance Scheme (for family whose total income is less than $5000)
Base on the above, some students may pay as little as $100 for the entire trip.
Every student in the club is strongly encouraged to go as it is a good exposure in terms of dance as well as culture. I hope to get a confirmation on the 5th of Jan 2009.
In case you or your parents need to seek further clarifications, feel free to call me.
Mr Kong
